New opportunities of wheel production

The new equipment that costs over 6 million rubles was supplied to the wheel production of CHKPZ.

The machines with computer numerical control (CNC) were installed in Wheel shop at the beginning of February. It took some days to adjust the equipment. This work was done by the experts from the supplying company — the largest American machine builder “Haas”.

Today commissioning and start-up process is finished, the operators are almost trained all the basic operations. New machines will conduct machining of discs and milling operations on heavy wheels.

“Owing to new equipment we will achieve the productivity growth and, most importantly, we will be able to fully place the production cycle in one shop — before that we outsourced the machining of disc wheels — explains Viktor Gartung, deputy director of Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant of wheel production. — This means that timing of orders will diminish, that will make our products more attractive for the client.”

What is of no small importance, the obtaining of high-technology machining centers will help Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant increase productivity on the output of heavy discs — large wheels for road and building machinery: graders, truck-tractors etc.
