The award of the Chairman of the Council of Federation will be given to the rationalizer Vladimir Fedorov

     Sergey Mironov, Chairman of the Council of Federation of Russia, visited Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant and Chelyabinsk Tube-Rolling Plant in July 2007. He was impressed by rationalization activities in these plants. He decided to award the authors of the best kaizen ideas in July with presents and travels to any holiday resorts in the world.
     The author of the best kaizen idea in July became Vladimir Fedorov, an electrician in the Wheel Production. His idea was to change the design of the welding machine. It will result in reducing of energy consumption and defect parts, and also will stabilize welding process. The new method was successfully tested.
     Vladimir Fedorov has worked in the plant for over 40 years. He developed equipment for spot welding, a machine for cutting of packaging materials, rotary needle milling machine, a machine for removing rust and scale from wheel disks.
     “I was impressed, that Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant kept rationalization activities, that employees are involved in production improvement”, said Sergey Mironov,  Chairman of the Council of Federation of Russia. My decision to award the best ideas in July was spontaneous. But I believe, I will also award inventors and rationalizers in other plants.
     Vladimir Fedorov got a gold watch with a dedicatory inscription granted by  Chairman of the Council of Federation of Russia. As for the second part of the award, he is going to spend his vacation in Karlovy Vary together with his wife and two sons, as soon as he celebrates his sixtieth jubilee. The author of the best kaizen idea in Chelyabinsk Tube-Rolling Plant is going to Australia with his family.
