ISO 14001: The certificate is confirmed!

Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant has passed witness audit on conformance to ISO 14001 “Ecological Management Systems” requirements

The company got this certificate a year ago and since then has to pass annual witness audits. ISO 14001 certificate guarantees to CHKPZ business partners and customers that the company fulfills environmental safety regulations and follows legislative requirements.

Anna Sidorova, the head of industrial and ecological safety department says, “We can not just give “an alright picture” at the moment of audit, we have to confirm it by the data gathered throughout the year”.

The whole personnel starting from top-managers to workers participate in changes caused by implementation of this standard. Apart from recordkeeping and control, new rules such as separate elimination of wastes, more strict hazardous wastes management such as, for example, mercury vapor lamps, are implemented in the company.

During 2011 the personnel were trained on basics of ecological management systems taking into account new, more severe standards. The auditors noted the high level of personnel awareness of the main issues of ecological management systems.

The next audit is planned for January 2013.
